本論文は２００６年に特別自治道となった済州島が、その主要産業である観光を中心とする自立的な地域開発を推進していくための検討材料の提供を目的とする.本論文は、沖縄の地域開発としての観光開発のあり方を示すために、本島を北部、中部、南部の３つの広域ゾーンに分けて空間スケールを設定し、それぞれにおいて特徴のある観光開発が展開されている状況を示した上で、複数の観光資源が地域ごとにパッケージされている現況について解説する.（査読付）
