Summary

Local airports have been developed with the expectation of functioning as regional transportation
hubs. But they are required now to also play a role as regional revitalization hubs because of the
frequent natural disasters and the arrival of an SDGs society. 
In this paper, we investigated the following effectiveness for regional revitalization at Fukushima
local airport area by urban-beekeeping. 
1) Regional revitalization by urban-beekeeping, 2) Business education for high school and
university students through collaboration of high school and university, 3) Social deployment
of expertise for urban-beekeeping, 4) Regional revitalization based on local airports, 5) Social
deployment of new research funding methods.
Following result was confirmed.
1)Locally-based urban-beekeeping is effective for building industry-academia-government
collaboration.
2) Collaboration of high school and university brought educational benefits through experiential
learning on product development for high school and university students.
3) Regional revitalization by urban-beekeeping achieved community-building effects such as joint
Instagram management of multiple sectors.
