The Transformation of the Temple-School Complex in the Mid-Edo Period: The Example of the Owari Domain Meirindo School

This study examines the history of the temple-school complex of the Meirindo, the domain school in Owari. Owari was the first domain to establish a Confucius temple under the first Owari lord Tokugawa Yoshinao, though this was not integrated with the school also started by Yoshinao.
