スウェーデンの紙パルプ産業の企業レベルパネルデータを用いて、同国で導入された炭素税が企業の研究開発(R&D)活動に与えた影響を定量的に分析した。R&Dに影響を与え得る変数をコントロールすると、炭素税支払額は企業のR&Dに有意な影響を与えていないという結果が得られた。企業レベルの税支払額を説明変数として用いた研究はこれまでなく、独自性があるものと考える。
